Optometric Assistant

I have been dispensing for the practice for the past 15 years.  I help patients select frames, lens choices and fit them them with their finished prescription eyewear.  I enjoy teaching our patients how to wear and take care of of their new Contact lenses.   Use of diagnostic equipment plays an important part of our patient care and I have been testing with the automated visual field perimeter for the last 15 years and have recently been trained to take images of the eye with a Fundus camera. 
Living and working in the same community for the last 15 years, I have developed friendship with a lot of our patients and really enjoy seeing them every year."
 

Laboratory Technician

"I have about 18 years experience as a laboratory technician.  I edge or cut the lenses into the frames ensuring the prescriptions and measurements are correct to each patients specifications.  I also do repairs, especially when soldering is requred.  My job requires that I know about all the different type of lenses and their uses. The advent of new technology  makes my joy a little easier. 
When I'm not in the lab, I like to spend time with my family and our new puppy."
